Round-the-House Relay 2008

Hey, not bad, not bad at all coming in firsts (twice) among the 3 teams that we sent for the annual round-the-house relay this year (13/Apr). We captured glories in Women-Open and and Men-Senior-Veteran-Open. The Men-Open grind out a 7th placing out of 9 teams - well we avoided the pits alright. We all did our bests and team spirit was high, what with our bright yellow attires although the women were on different color. We need to inject young blood from now on to carry on the fine work that our seniors have carved out for themselves. Time for grooming and coaches are welcome to beef up our handful of youths. Some are already running for schools like Hafiz, Calvin, and Nasir but we can do with more talents. Some are a little bumpy here and there (Kok Chain, you take note ya) but nothing like a good daily grill that would ultimately shed those baby bumps.

Our two reservists for the women, Laura and YinYoke got the opportunity to run as well, as two teams, Old&Young (Laura) and PVAA (YinYoke) were both short on runners. Moira (PVAA) approached me for help and quickly I rope in YinYoke who is game enough to represent them. Hey Laura, whom in O&Y approached you? How can they lease our runners without informing me? There are loan-transfer fees involved, don't they know that?

AhTeik gave up his place for ChangWC due to stomach discomfort (according to him) and Chang did not dissapoint, clocking an excellent 10m1s.
However AhLeong who gave up his place for AhChong dented our Men's Open performance a bit as AhChong was not quite up to his usual fitness. Whatever happens to AhChong's performance during the past year is somewhat a puzzle. He used to be one of those road-hardy guys, and one of the fastest we had.

We would like to thank the following people again for making this a successful participation for
